Oracle DBA

Overview

The Oracle DBA will oversee administration, performance tuning, and capacity planning for all QNB database systems including Oracle e-Business Suite (ERP), Oracle Golden Gate, and other IT databases.

Key Responsibilities

• Install and upgrade Oracle databases along with related application tools.
• Monitor database system health and performance continuously.
• Ensure optimal performance, system availability, sustainability, and security.
• Diagnose and resolve issues promptly in real time.
• Recommend effective solutions to improve database operations.
• Automate repetitive tasks, track problems, and maintain detailed documentation of changes.
• Support developers by assisting in query optimization and schema improvements.
• Provide round-the-clock support for critical production environments.
• Execute scheduled maintenance and assist in release deployments outside regular hours.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• At least 6 years of experience working as an Oracle DBA or in a similar capacity.
• Proficient with Oracle RAC, Data Guard, RMAN, EXADATA, Oracle Golden Gate, and engineered systems.
• Experience working with Linux/Unix operating systems.
• Strong understanding of database administration techniques including performance tuning across multiple operating systems, troubleshooting, and database migration methods.
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
