Lifeguard - Trainee / Qualified

Overview

Join Center Parcs UK's Subtropical Swimming Paradise located in Longford Forest, Ballymahon, County Longford, where you'll ensure a pleasant and secure environment for all guests as a Lifeguard. This role requires upholding stringent health and safety measures while providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise swimming pool areas to guarantee guest safety and respond promptly to emergencies.
• Deliver courteous and professional interaction to guests.
• Maintain cleanliness and adhere strictly to health and safety protocols.
• Complete NPLQ (National Pool Lifeguard Qualification) training and demonstrate competent rescue and first aid abilities.

Training and Requirements

Applicants must be strong swimmers, passing an interview swim test involving deep-water diving, timed swimming (front and back), and independent pool exit.

Trainee Lifeguards will undergo a 5-day NPLQ certification course covering their duties, pool guest observation, rescue techniques, first aid including CPR, with employment contingent on successfully passing the course.

Working Hours and Conditions

• Availability for full-time or part-time schedules, with shifts running between 8 AM and 8 PM, including mandatory midweek, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
• Guaranteed minimum working hours over every 4-week period, with potential for additional hours as operational needs arise.
• Free transportation provided from Ballymahon and Longford Town for staff lacking personal transport.
• Premium pay rates for Sundays.

Candidate Profile

• Holders of RLSS Pool Lifeguard or IWS qualifications plus completion of 20 hours of continued professional development (for Qualified Lifeguards).
• Ability to swim 50 metres within 55 seconds.
• Excellent communication skills, able to remain composed during stressful situations.
• Personable, approachable, and sincere when dealing with guests and colleagues.

Additional Information

Candidates will be required to undergo Garda vetting prior to employment, with assistance provided by the company.
