Role Overview & Impact
We are seeking a Lead Software Engineer who is a highly skilled, T-Shaped professional with profound expertise in database management and a willingness to engage across our modern and legacy technology stack. This role primarily focuses on leading high-stakes data cleanup and optimization projects within Oracle and SQL Server environments, ensuring these extensive operations are executed flawlessly with zero downtime and no adverse downstream effects. As an integral member of our agile team, you will collaborate on backend development using Python, analyze legacy codebases, and oversee cloud deployment processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, audit, and implement complex SQL scripts and procedures for large-scale data modifications with a paramount focus on risk mitigation.
- Diagnose and resolve data issues predominantly in Oracle and SQL Server, and provide support for PostgreSQL databases.
- Collaborate across the full software stack by contributing to backend Python services and frontend Angular/TypeScript features.
- Navigate and interpret legacy source code (C++, C#.NET, Java) to track data flow and assure integration continuity.
- Manage cloud-based application deployments and environment stability using AWS services such as RDS, S3, EC2 along with GitHub-powered CI/CD workflows.
Required Qualifications
- Expert-level, hands-on experience with Oracle and SQL Server database systems including deep understanding of internals, transaction handling, and performance tuning.
- Broad software engineering skills with adaptability to engage in Python backend and Angular/TypeScript frontend programming.
- Proven track record managing large-scale production data cleanups or migrations emphasizing validation, error control, and rollback planning.
- Strong capability in comprehending and analyzing legacy codebases written in C++, C#.NET, or Java.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline complimented by strong problem-solving and communication proficiency.
Preferred Experience
- Familiarity with AWS infrastructure management and continuous integration/deployment methodologies.
- Experience with GitHub for version control and team collaboration.
- A passion for contributing to innovative software solutions and maintaining data integrity in sectors including energy.
