Job description
Position Overview
The Cook is expected to prepare food items according to weekly menus and production sheets, using approved recipes. Responsibilities include adhering to scheduled routines, following established System and departmental procedures, and completing assigned tasks with initiative and sound judgment. Prioritizing duties and addressing problems as they arise are essential components of this role.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare high-quality food following approved recipes.
- Observe proper food handling and safety standards, including HACCP and OSHA guidelines.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, equipment, and utensils.
- Comply with System and corporate policies and compliance programs.
- Follow safety, environmental, and infection control practices.
- Coordinate production schedules effectively to meet operational demands.
- Perform repetitive tasks efficiently and consistently with attention to detail.
- Report directly to the Production Supervisor and complete daily assignments.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in food preparation and sanitation preferred.
- At least one year of cooking experience in healthcare, institutional, or full-service restaurant settings under qualified supervision.
- Friendly, courteous, dependable, and able to follow directions accurately.
- Ability to promote excellent customer relations by providing quality products in a clean and appealing environment, responding promptly to customer requests.
- Demonstrates initiative, good judgment, thoroughness, consistency, and an above-satisfactory work ethic.
- No licensure, certification, or registration required.
