Job description

About The Good Shop Mauritius

The Good Shop is a social enterprise operating four second-hand retail outlets. The income generated supports inclusive employment opportunities and scholarships, distinguishing itself as a mission-driven organisation rather than a traditional charity.

Role Overview

We are looking for a Community Builder, a role that transcends conventional community management by engaging directly with content creators, employees, partners, donors, and activists to collaboratively generate authentic content and programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage projects proactively by setting clear objectives and deadlines, coordinating with various stakeholders to execute initiatives such as donation drives, communications campaigns, or events effectively and punctually.
  • Develop and maintain strong, people-focused relationships across the impact sector, collaborating actively in the field and not confined to desk work.
  • Take full ownership of communications, including drafting briefs, designing presentations, constructing marketing funnels, creating social media content, managing budgets, producing video material, boosting posts, analyzing results, and coaching others.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Fluency in Creole and English is required; proficiency in sign language is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Open to candidates regardless of experience or educational background.
  • Strong enthusiasm for creating social impact and participation within an inclusive workplace that embraces multilingual communication.

Employment Details

  • Contract options include permanent or fixed-term engagements with part-time or full-time availability.
  • Position is flexible with hybrid working possibilities, though frequent onsite presence is necessary for collaboration.
  • Salary range from Rs 20,000 to Rs 30,000, adjusted according to experience; part-time roles compensated on a prorated basis.
  • Start date scheduled for October 1st, 2026.
  • Application deadline is September 15th, 2026.

Recruitment Process

  • Shortlisted candidates (10) will be invited on September 18th to submit a campaign proposal by September 21st, receiving Rs 500 vouchers as a thank-you.
  • Final interviews with the Managing Director will occur on September 25th for three finalists, with decisions communicated by September 28th.
