Technical Architect

About the Role

We are looking for a highly competent and driven Software Architect to join our Architecture team. This role involves shaping the design and architecture of our cloud-based platform using modern technologies and methodologies. Collaboration with cross-business-unit Engineering and Product teams is essential to ensure that implementations adhere to architectural guidelines and deliver scalable enterprise solutions. The position demands a solid understanding of technological risks and a capability to communicate non-functional requirements effectively. Strong communication, teamwork, a solid work ethic, and a proactive mindset are key qualities for success.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Product and Engineering leadership to define the product roadmap, technical designs, and enablers.
• Guide the delivery of a cloud platform that is secure, cost-effective, reliable, high-performing, and scalable.
• Develop and uphold software architecture standards and best practices.
• Lead design and implementation efforts of scalable, secure software solutions.
• Communicate non-functional requirements (NFRs) and architectural designs both formally and informally.
• Identify and mitigate strategic technical debt.
• Work closely with development teams to ensure alignment with architectural plans.
• Assess and recommend tools, technologies, and processes that enhance product quality.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to developers.
• Contribute actively to core platform libraries and template projects.
• Stay updated on cutting-edge technologies to continually enhance platform offerings.
• Collaborate with Architecture, DevOps, and Platform Engineering teams to automate deployment, enforce governance, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Safeguard data security, privacy, and compliance with relevant policies.

Candidate Profile

• Holds a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Possesses at least eight years of software development experience.
• Brings more than three years of experience in Software, Technical, or Solution Architecture roles.
• Has a deep understanding of cloud-native architectures and best design patterns.
• Experienced in designing and building robust, distributed enterprise systems capable of scaling for high traffic.
• Detail-oriented with a strong drive to tackle complex technical problems.
• Proficient with Microsoft technologies such as .NET (C#), Web API, Azure services including Cosmos DB, Azure SQL, Application Insights, Key Vault, Azure Front Door, and Azure DevOps.
• Familiar with Google Cloud Platform services like GKE, Postgres, and Cloud Functions.
• Knowledgeable in JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks such as Angular and React.
• Fully familiar with the software development lifecycle including Domain-Driven Design (DDD), Test-Driven Development (TDD), and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) practices.
• Experience with event-driven architecture, microservices, and Kafka messaging.
• Exposure to containerization technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker.
• Possession of Microsoft Azure or .NET certifications is a plus.
• Utilizes AI design and coding tools like Co-Pilot for productivity improvements.
• Keen interest in AI technologies and their application to boost delivery and customer value.
• Strong intellectual curiosity and eagerness for continuous learning.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, documentation, design capabilities, and stakeholder engagement skills.
