Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and steer the technical vision for features that serve millions of users globally.
• Lead architecture decisions within your responsibility area, creating scalable and maintainable designs aligned with overall platform goals.
• Translate complex product specifications into clear technical plans and drive those through to execution.
• Serve as a technical leader by setting high benchmarks for code quality, testing practices, system reliability, and operations.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior and mid-level engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and knowledge dissemination.
• Collaborate closely with product and design teams to shape product roadmaps considering customer value, technical sustainability, and health.
• Advocate for customer experience improvements by analyzing feedback and metrics, leading root cause analyses and corrective actions.
• Drive productivity enhancements by promoting effective usage of AI tools within the engineering team to address the toughest challenges.
• Lead by example through curiosity, accountability, and fostering a collaborative culture focused on ownership and continual learning.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree or higher in fields such as Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, or Software Engineering.
• At least five years of professional software development experience delivering production-quality software in complex environments.
• Proven leadership in architectural and design conversations, aligning technical approaches across multiple teams.
• Strong programming and system design skills with a demonstrated ability to assess trade-offs and make sound technical decisions.
• Effective problem-solving skills employing structured, scientific, and creative methodologies.
• Excellent communication skills to explain technical concepts to varied audiences including engineers and stakeholders.
• A strong focus on software quality encompassing testing strategies, code review, operational readiness, and continuous improvements.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in full-stack development with languages such as TypeScript, JavaScript, and Java.
• Familiarity with frontend UI frameworks like React or Angular.
• Backend expertise in Java (Spring), RESTful APIs, WebSockets, distributed architectures, and API design.
• Experience with databases such as PostgreSQL or AWS Aurora.
• Proven ability to scale systems for increasing user load through techniques like horizontal scaling, caching, and load balancing.
• Large-scale customer-facing application architecture ownership or contribution experience.
• Hands-on experience in unit, integration, end-to-end testing, including contract testing and automation within CI/CD pipelines.
• Interest or experience in AI-assisted development using large language model-based tools to assist in design, scaffolding, refactoring, testing, debugging, and improving productivity with a focus on production-grade outcomes.
• Proficiency with Git, DevOps methodologies, and continuous integration/delivery tools.
• Experience optimizing applications for Windows, macOS, Linux, and web platforms.
