About Magnet Forensics

Magnet Forensics is a leading global provider of digital investigative software designed to extract, analyze, and share evidence from computers, smartphones, tablets, and IoT devices. Our cutting-edge tools are integral to modern digital investigations, helping law enforcement and government agencies worldwide to combat crime, safeguard assets, and uphold national security. Growing our international footprint, we offer a workplace where every role contributes to impactful outcomes supported by ongoing learning, development, and a talented, trustworthy team.

Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join our SaaS-Ops team, part of Shared Services Engineering. This team ensures the reliability and operational excellence of a mission-critical, high-availability SaaS platform hosted on Kubernetes clusters for clients in law enforcement and government sectors worldwide. The position demands advanced skills in AWS, infrastructure-as-code, and CI/CD methodologies. Collaborating closely with Application, Platform, and Security divisions, you will enhance secure architecture designs and optimize automation and reliability across cloud environments. Responsibilities include managing infrastructure as code, addressing production incidents effectively, and spearheading platform modernization efforts.

The role operates in a performance-driven setting emphasizing ownership, trust, autonomy, and proactive problem-solving. Participation in an on-call rotation for incident response is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain production Kubernetes clusters on Amazon EKS, including upgrades, scaling, and security enhancements.
  • Design, develop, and uphold Terraform infrastructure-as-code, promoting modular reusable components and compliance with IaC standards.
  • Oversee Helm chart configurations and ArgoCD GitOps workflows to support multi-region SaaS deployments.
  • Maintain observability platforms, including Grafana dashboards, alerts, and logging pipelines to improve system signal clarity and reduce noise.
  • Enhance CI/CD pipeline reliability by identifying unstable stages, reducing build durations, and improving developer experience.
  • Address container and infrastructure security vulnerabilities, contribute to compliance activities especially related to FedRAMP requirements.
  • Create and update runbooks, change management protocols, and operational documentation.
  • Ensure conformity with internal security and operational policies such as ISO 27001, SOC2, and NIST standards.
  • Support the integration of AI-driven automation tools to increase operational efficiency.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation, lead incident response and root cause analysis, and contribute to post-incident reviews.

Requirements

  • Minimum five years’ experience with progressive responsibility in cloud infrastructure and site reliability engineering.
  • Proven hands-on experience managing Kubernetes clusters at scale, including cluster lifecycle and failure handling.
  • Experience responding to critical production outages in environments where uptime is crucial.
  • Strong knowledge of Terraform used at the module and state management level.
  • Practical familiarity with GitOps methodologies, Helm chart organization, and ArgoCD app-of-apps patterns or equivalents.
  • Ability to balance operational support with strategic platform improvements.
  • Experience with observability practices, including dashboard creation, alert management, and metric-based operational decisions.
  • Prior involvement with security hardening in compliance-regulated environments, with knowledge of FedRAMP, SOC2, or similar frameworks.
