Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Python Developer to become a valuable member of our expanding engineering team. This opportunity suits professionals with several years of practical experience in delivering production-ready Python applications, equipped with solid software engineering and problem-solving expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, test, and maintain high-performance Python applications.
- Develop and refine RESTful APIs using Python frameworks like FastAPI or equivalents.
- Build cloud-native software solutions employing AWS services.
- Partner with architects, DevOps, and infrastructure personnel to ensure smooth integration within AWS environments.
- Produce clean, maintainable code and maintain clear documentation adhering to software development best practices.
- Utilize Git for source control and collaborative software development.
- Craft and optimize SQL queries and handle relational database interactions.
- Debug, troubleshoot, and enhance existing systems.
- Engage in code reviews and contribute to improving development standards.
- Operate effectively within Agile teams collaborating across functions.
Mandatory Qualifications and Experience
- At least three years of hands-on experience coding in Python with strong software engineering fundamentals.
- Demonstrable track record of creating and working with REST APIs.
- Proficiency with FastAPI or similar Python web frameworks such as Flask or Django REST Framework.
- Experience building applications on Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Familiarity with AWS tools including Lambda, S3, SQS, SNS, ECS, EC2, RDS, CloudWatch, and API Gateway.
- Competence in using Git for version control.
- Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases such as Redshift, Percona MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
- Excellent diagnostic, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and team collaboration capabilities.
Preferred Skills
- Experience working with Grafana for monitoring and data visualization.
- Familiarity with Apache Kafka in event-driven system architectures.
- Knowledge of Apache Airflow for orchestration and scheduling workflows.
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and Agile software development practices.
