About the Role
Personio is a leading HR platform dedicated to simplifying complex and time-intensive tasks for small to medium-sized businesses. With a robust team of 1,500 employees supporting over 15,000 customers and 1.5 million users globally, Personio strives to deliver intuitive products that truly delight. This Payroll Support Specialist position offers a hybrid work model, requiring office presence three days a week in either Munich or Berlin, with remote options available for those based elsewhere in Germany.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver expert customer support for payroll processing, ensuring all procedures comply with internal standards and external regulations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll-related legislation and technologies to continuously improve both processes and customer experiences.
- Respond effectively to customer queries through multiple channels including email, callbacks, and live chat, providing clear, prompt, and empathetic assistance.
- Offer customers self-help materials such as documented resources and help center articles to empower self-service.
- Manage and prioritize multiple customer issues simultaneously, ensuring timely resolutions.
- Partner with internal teams such as Product, Compliance, Implementation, and Professional Services to troubleshoot challenges and develop improvements.
- Contribute to both internal and external knowledge bases, maintaining accuracy and accessibility.
- Engage in cross-departmental projects aimed at refining payroll workflows and enhancing customer support.
- Support the development and upkeep of Help Center resources.
- Apply analytical skills to identify and bridge gaps in payroll processes and product functionalities, proposing creative solutions.
- Maintain composure and effectiveness under pressure, especially during peak periods or escalated cases.
- Pursue ongoing professional development and participate in training to sustain high levels of payroll and product expertise.
Candidate Requirements
- In-depth understanding of payroll processing, compliance mandates, and quality assurance.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, with capacity to manage conflict professionally and diplomatically.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills to navigate complex payroll scenarios.
- Effective multitasking and time management capabilities.
- Collaborative work approach with experience in cross-team settings.
- Native-level proficiency in German (or equivalent C2) and fluent business-level English.
