Role Overview

Geneious, a Dotmatics division, creates defining software for molecular biology, aiding development of therapeutics and environmental solutions. As a Java Developer on this agile team, you will work on Geneious Prime, our flagship product, developing full-stack solutions that range from integrating sequence analysis algorithms to building user-friendly biological data management tools and cloud service integrations.

Responsibilities

• Implement new algorithms for sequence data analysis
• Develop intuitive tools for managing biological datasets and cloud integrations
• Maintain and enhance Geneious Prime and related Java software
• Collaborate regularly with stakeholders to refine requirements and iterate on software design
• Participate actively in a cross-functional team, including testing, documentation, and support tasks as required

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience; 2+ years relevant development experience
• Proficiency with Java frameworks and libraries
• Experience in front-end UI development or full-stack engineering
• Ability to work with complex, large code bases
• Desirable familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Github Actions, CodePipeline)
• Understanding of automated testing concepts
• Experience with Agile software development methodologies
