Role Overview
The Human Resources Generalist position reports directly to the HR Manager and is responsible for managing the entire HR function. This role involves hiring exceptional talent and fostering a workplace culture where individuals and managers can excel. You will stay closely involved with the business, simplifying processes and embodying Unifi’s values at critical moments.
Responsibilities
- Manage the complete employee lifecycle, providing managers with practical insights for informed people decisions.
- Develop and maintain talent pipelines for frequently needed and difficult-to-fill positions to support organizational growth.
- Oversee partnerships with external recruitment agencies and ensure delivery of quality candidates.
- Represent Unifi at career fairs, networking events, and similar venues to attract top talent.
- Facilitate onboarding programs that help new hires integrate quickly, understand the company, and confidently contribute.
- Partner with managers to guarantee new employees are well-supported and set up for success from the first day.
- Establish strong relationships with managers to comprehend their teams and challenges thoroughly.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to managers by offering practical guidance on HR-related decisions and processes.
- Lead the performance management system, ensuring clear expectations, meaningful discussions, and maintained accountability.
- Collaborate with the HR team and broader organization to execute initiatives that boost employee engagement and skill development.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, HR systems, and people administration.
- Ensure optimal and correct utilization of HR systems throughout the business.
- Consistently apply HR procedures and monitor employee usage of relevant tools and systems effectively.
- Contribute to creating a work environment where employees can excel, thrive, and help drive business success.
- Actively embody Unifi’s cultural values and contribute to making the workplace enjoyable.
Qualifications and Skills
- A bachelor's degree or an equivalent qualification is required.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a comprehensive HR operations role encompassing the full employee lifecycle.
- Confident in supporting and constructively challenging managers with sound judgment and practical solutions.
- Effective, clear, respectful communication skills.
- Able to build strong relationships, gain trust, and collaborate effectively across teams and countries.
- Highly organized and dependable, capable of managing multiple priorities while maintaining high quality.
- Resilient, resourceful, proactive with a strong "can-do" mindset.
- Passionate about enabling employees to succeed and flourish in their roles.
- Curious, continually seeking improved ways to enhance employee experience and operational effectiveness.
- Willingness and ability to travel across Africa as required.
Minimum education
Bachelor's Degree
