Fiber Network Engineer

Job Overview

This role involves managing the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of fiber optic networks, specifically focusing on GPON and FTTH technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute fiber optic splicing using fusion splicing equipment.
• Manage all stages of GPON/FTTH network installation and upkeep.
• Carry out FTTH fiber cable laying, jointing, termination, and restoration tasks.
• Conduct testing using OTDR and power-level measurement tools.
• Diagnose and resolve issues such as fiber cuts, signal degradation, low power, and connectivity problems.
• Handle infrastructure including ODF, FAT, FDT, FDMS, patch panels, and fiber joints.
• Support installation and configuration of ONT/ONU devices.
• Address customer and network-related fiber complaints promptly.
• Identify and fix fiber faults spanning from OLT to end-user premises.
• Maintain detailed records related to splicing, testing, network routes, and fault occurrences.
• Coordinate with Network Operations Center (NOC) and Central Fiber Team for resolving network issues.
• Adhere strictly to safety protocols while working onsite.

Skills and Qualifications

• Strong understanding of GPON and FTTH technologies.
• Practical experience operating fusion splicing machines.
• Familiarity with OTDR and optical power meter usage.
• Knowledge of fiber jointing, termination, and troubleshooting methods.
• Understanding of OLT, ONT/ONU devices, ODF, FAT/FDT systems, and fiber distribution networks.
• Capability to work independently at various field locations.
• Possession of a two-wheeler and a valid driving license is preferred or required.
• Good communication abilities and strong problem-solving skills.

Location

Work is based at Warasiguda, Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India.

Compensation

Monthly salary ranges from 25000 to 27000 INR.
