Electrical Engineer

About the Role

Universal Electromech Systems is searching for a proficient and driven Field Service Engineer specializing in electrical systems, with 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in installation, maintenance, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of electrical equipment, particularly SF6 Circuit Breakers and related systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform installation, testing, commissioning, servicing, and upkeep of SF6 Circuit Breakers at various client sites.
• Conduct assembly, inspection, mechanism verification, and comprehensive commissioning for SF6 Circuit Breakers.
• Handle tasks related to SF6 gas including filling, evacuation, pressure assessments, and leakage checks, adhering strictly to protocols.
• Execute protection relay testing along with commissioning and troubleshooting activities.
• Conduct primary and secondary injection tests as per requirements.
• Diagnose and resolve issues in electrical, control, protection, and interlocking circuits.
• Carry out electrical tests such as Insulation Resistance (IR), Contact Resistance, Breaker Timing, and other relevant assessments.
• Interpret and utilize Single Line Diagrams (SLD), electrical schematics, and control wiring diagrams accurately.
• Install and commission electrical equipment and connected systems effectively.
• Respond to breakdowns and service requests at client locations promptly.
• Identify faults and deliver technical solutions efficiently.
• Prepare detailed reports on service, inspections, testing, and commissioning activities.
• Coordinate collaboratively with customers and internal departments to complete service tasks efficiently.
• Adhere strictly to electrical safety protocols, including Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO), Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) use, and site safety rules.
• Maintain accurate records of tools, testing apparatus, spare parts, and service operations.
• Be prepared to travel to project and customer sites as necessary.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma, Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.), or Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Electrical or Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
• 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in electrical field service roles.
• Practical knowledge of SF6 Circuit Breaker installation and commissioning.
• Experienced in protection relay testing and electrical testing/commissioning procedures.
• Familiarity with SF6 gas handling and Circuit Breaker maintenance processes.
• Understanding of primary and secondary injection testing techniques.
• Strong grasp of electrical protection, control, and interlocking systems.
• Capability to read and interpret electrical drawings, SLDs, and control schematics efficiently.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
• Effective communication and customer interaction skills.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites frequently.
• Possession of a valid driving license is advantageous.
