Delivery Lead / Programme Manager

Within the Systems Delivery & Modernisation team, you will lead complex projects and programmes to successful completion, adapting delivery methods to meet client needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of intricate projects and programmes ensuring they align with client goals.
• Take full ownership of delivery outcomes including scope, schedule, budget management, and quality assurance.
• Develop and adjust delivery approaches and execution strategies to suit varying complexities and client environments.
• Collaborate closely with Programme Directors and senior client stakeholders to influence programme direction and decisions.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders by providing clear guidance on risks, trade-offs, and priorities.
• Implement proactive delivery assurance measures to identify and resolve issues early, preventing escalation.
• Lead efforts in project recovery and turnaround for challenged initiatives.
• Maintain and enhance executive stakeholder relationships through regular engagement including Steering Committee participation.
• Manage commercial performance rigorously, including budgeting, forecasting, and margin control.
• Coach and lead high-performing teams across multiple projects to ensure delivery excellence.
• Contribute actively to business development activities including opportunity shaping, proposal leadership, and pipeline conversion.
• Support practice growth via capability development, mentoring, and embedding best delivery practices.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Significant experience managing complex projects and programmes, preferably at a Senior Manager or Associate Director level.
• Demonstrated ability to own end-to-end delivery outcomes including financial and risk management.
• Expertise in programme and project governance with skills to elevate delivery environments.
• Proven success in working directly with senior executives (GM/Executive level) to influence and build trust.
• Strong commercial acumen, including budget oversight and forecasting for profitable project delivery.
• Experience working within complex environments involving multiple vendors and teams.
• Excellent capability in anticipating delivery risks and implementing pragmatic early interventions.
• Leadership skills in team development and managing other senior consultants or managers.
• Hands-on experience in proposal development and client pursuit activities.
• Exceptionally structured thinking, communication, and outcome-oriented consulting instincts.
• Background in Big Four or consulting contexts is highly regarded.
• Certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, MSP, or SAFe considered advantageous.
