Position Summary

This role is a 12-month fixed term contract for a Credit Controller focusing on accounts receivable management. The successful candidate will handle the organization's credit control functions to ensure timely payment collections, minimize bad debts, and maintain healthy cash flow. This role offers comprehensive training and is suitable for professionals aiming to build a career in credit control and accounts receivable.

Key Duties

• Oversee and monitor accounts receivable, ensuring payments are collected promptly from customers.
• Perform credit assessments to evaluate clients' creditworthiness and determine appropriate credit limits.
• Establish and enforce credit terms in alignment with company policies.
• Generate invoices, statements, and payment reminders for outstanding amounts.
• Engage with customers via various communication channels to follow up on payments and resolve billing issues.
• Negotiate payment arrangements for customers experiencing financial difficulties.
• Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of all credit control activities within the accounting systems.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, customer service, and other departments to resolve payment-related challenges.
• Continuously review and improve credit control procedures to enhance effectiveness.
• Keep informed about industry standards, legal requirements, and trends in credit management and accounts receivable.

Qualifications and Experience

• At least 2 years' experience in credit control, accounts receivable, or customer service roles, preferably in dynamic, customer-oriented environments.
• Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build and maintain productive relationships.
• Effective negotiation and problem-solving capabilities focused on mutually beneficial outcomes.
• High attention to detail and accuracy, capable of working under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of debt collection and credit control legalities is beneficial.
• Professional certifications such as CICM are advantageous but not mandatory.
