Role Summary

We are partnering with a major Oil & Gas operator to recruit a Construction Superintendent focused on scaffolding, particularly for offshore compression projects. This is a long-term contract position based onshore in Qatar, requiring residential presence with a work schedule of six days per week and ten hours per day.

Work Details

• Position Title: Construction Superintendent (Scaffolding)
• Start Date: Negotiable, typically within a month’s notice period
• Contract Duration: 36 months with possible extension
• Location: Onshore site in Qatar
• Working Hours: 6 days per week, 10 hours daily

Job Purpose

Ensure that scaffolding scopes for onshore and offshore projects comply with relevant standards, procedures, and best practices. Implement a robust site observation and intervention program to guarantee the safe and efficient execution of scaffolding activities.

Challenges

The erection, maintenance, and dismantling of complex engineered scaffolding onsite and offshore are critical components that directly influence the project schedule and health, safety, environmental, and security (SHES) outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Report directly to the Lifting Operations Division Manager (MP & NFPS)
• Audit the ScafTag System and monitor EPC contractors and subcontractors’ scaffolding programs, including training adherence and compliance with NFE Project standards; address working at height safety concerns
• Contribute to the scaffolding contractors’ pre-qualification process, including policy, procedure, training, and competency audits
• Support Project Management Teams (PMTs) through risk screening and formal risk assessments for scaffolding installation across greenfield and brownfield projects
• Serve as the main onshore PMT contact to resolve scaffolding-related issues onsite
• Oversee skill development for scaffolding personnel within contractors and subcontractors
• Assist in strategizing based on SHE&S data trends; participate in or lead incident investigations when necessary
• Build and maintain strong SHE&S networks across all contractors involved in the project
• Implement effective communications protocols to disseminate lessons learned and best practices consistently among MP/NFPS Teams
• Exemplify decisive leadership to promote tangible contractor safety practices throughout all project stages
• Plan and execute field strategies to monitor and enhance safety campaigns and hazard management programs through personal leadership engagement

Qualifications and Experience

• Possess CISRS Level III certification or ECITB Advanced Level qualification
• Have a minimum of 12 years of diverse oil and gas operations experience, including at least 5 years in a senior supervisory role
• Demonstrated ability to review engineered scaffolding designs
• In-depth knowledge of NASC Technical Guidance TG20
• Familiarity with LNG Operating Standards and Procedures is a plus
