Team Overview
Our Information Technology Services (ITS) group focuses on creating high-quality data analytics and business intelligence solutions that empower both our personnel and clients. We construct and maintain reporting platforms and data models that deliver insightful information for strategic decision-making. We are seeking a Business Intelligence Developer to enhance our Tāmaki-makau-rau/Auckland office capabilities.
Role and Responsibilities
- Design, develop, maintain, and enhance Power BI dashboards, reports, and visualisations.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and interpret requirements into effective reporting solutions.
- Construct and optimise complex data models using DAX and SSAS Tabular for dynamic, time-aware reports.
- Work cross-functionally to gather, transform, and integrate data from diverse sources.
- Manage and continuously improve the existing report portfolio to adapt to evolving business needs.
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to reporting and data pipelines.
- Develop and optimise SQL queries, scripts, and stored procedures to support BI solutions.
- Oversee report deployment, maintenance, and release processes, including providing after-hours support when necessary.
- Ensure reporting solutions are secure, governed, and perform efficiently within Deloitte's environment.
- Offer training, guidance, and support to internal teams and stakeholders on reporting platforms and outputs.
- Stay informed of emerging technologies and best practices to foster continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- At least 2 years of professional experience in business intelligence, reporting, or data analytics.
- Proven skills in Power BI report development, administration, and optimisation.
- Strong expertise with DAX, SSAS Tabular or semantic modeling, and dimensional data modeling methods.
- Hands-on experience using Microsoft SQL Server for writing and troubleshooting SQL queries and stored procedures.
- Working knowledge of data warehousing principles and ETL/ELT methodologies.
- Familiarity with Azure data services and cloud-centric reporting platforms.
- Experience with DevOps practices or continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) automation related to reporting and data pipelines.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate across levels in the organisation.
- Capability to prioritise tasks, operate independently when needed, and positively contribute to team goals.
