Assembly Associate I

Position Overview

The Assembly Associate I role is designed for entry-level candidates eager to begin a career in manufacturing. The primary responsibility involves assembling products and components according to detailed instructions and quality standards, ensuring safety and efficiency throughout the production process. Candidates with 3–6 months of relevant experience are preferred, though comprehensive on-the-job training is provided.

Primary Duties

• Assemble parts and finished goods by following blueprints, work instructions, and production schedules.
• Accurately execute repetitive tasks at the required production rate.
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, jigs, fixtures, and measuring devices as necessary.
• Adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs), assembly drawings, and written instructions.
• Achieve daily production targets within established cycle times.
• Inspect components and assemblies to meet quality standards, reporting any defects promptly.
• Maintain accurate production records and quality checks.
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and take part in corrective actions when needed.
• Strictly follow safety protocols, OSHA guidelines, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
• Keep workstations clean, organized, and free from hazards.
• Engage in safety trainings, 5S initiatives, and continuous improvement programs.
• Report unsafe conditions and workplace incidents immediately.
• Collaborate effectively with team members to meet production goals.
• Communicate regularly with supervisors concerning production status, quality issues, and material requirements.
• Participate in daily team meetings and support cross-training across related work areas.

Candidate Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent GED.
• Ability to interpret written instructions and basic assembly diagrams.
• Competence in fundamental math operations such as counting, measuring, and simple calculations.
• Strong focus on detail and dedication to quality work.
• Consistent attendance and willingness to work full-time hours including possible overtime.
• Capability to work independently and within a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience of 3 to 6 months in manufacturing, assembly, or production roles.
• Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments.
• Exposure to lean manufacturing principles or 5S workplace organization.

Physical Expectations

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for long durations (up to 8–10 hours per shift).
• Capacity to lift, carry, push, and pull objects weighing up to 25 pounds unassisted; heavier objects require team lifting.
• Repetitive use of hands, wrists, and arms during assembly tasks.
• Comfort working in a manufacturing environment with potential exposure to noise, dust, and temperature variations.
• Mandatory use of PPE including safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection when needed, and a static jacket on the production floor.

Working Conditions

• Schedule is Monday through Thursday, 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with occasional Fridays as required.
• Role requires on-site presence at the manufacturing facility; remote work is not an option.
• Production floor is indoors, temperature-controlled with some seasonal variability.
