Role Overview

This position involves collaborating closely with project managers, consultants, and clients to develop architectural design solutions from initial concepts through building consent and detailed documentation. The role offers a blend of on-site involvement, design tasks, and stakeholder engagement dedicated to enhancing community accessibility and project functionality throughout New Zealand.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform site visits and assemble project requirements
  • Interpret client and consultant feedback into initial design concepts
  • Create architectural drawings and documentation required for building consents
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and drafting teams to streamline processes
  • Ensure all designs adhere to New Zealand building regulations and standards
  • Communicate and coordinate with councils, consultants, contractors, and clients
  • Manage documentation coordination and design project timelines

Essential Qualifications and Skills

  • Holding LPB Design 1 qualification or higher
  • Proficient in ArchiCAD software
  • Experience with building construction or refurbishment projects
  • Strong familiarity with New Zealand building codes and the consent process
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities

Desirable Attributes

  • Experience in residential architectural projects
  • Background in accessibility modifications or government-related programs
  • Experience collaborating with planners, engineers, and quantity surveyors
  • Skills in project coordination and KPI management
  • Competency with Excel for project tracking and reporting
