Job description
Role Overview
We are partnering with a pioneering clean technology firm to find a Technical Programme Director reporting to the CTO. This leadership role is responsible for steering the integration and delivery of a sophisticated, multi-disciplinary programme as proprietary technology advances from pilot phases to demonstration scale and ultimately commercial rollout.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and uphold the technical programme baseline alongside an integrated delivery schedule.
- Coordinate efforts across engineering, product development, process technology, laboratories, operations, and external collaborators.
- Identify and control critical paths, technical dependencies, assumptions, and potential risks.
- Enforce governance structures, decision-making processes, change management, and comprehensive programme reporting.
- Serve as the chief liaison with a significant international strategic partner.
- Convert partner inputs into well-defined, quantifiable work packages.
- Deliver senior leadership transparent updates on programme progress, risk factors, and technical readiness to support future investment decisions.
Experience & Skills Required
- Demonstrated leadership in managing intricate technical or industrial programmes.
- Proven ability to integrate engineering, research and development, operations, and external stakeholders.
- Expertise in progressing proprietary technologies from development into demonstration or early commercial scale.
- Strong capabilities in programme controls, governance, and technical communications.
- Skilled at influencing senior technical experts and executives through matrix leadership approaches.
- Relevant industry background including advanced materials, chemicals, battery materials, energy technologies, minerals processing, manufacturing, or unique first-of-a-kind industrial projects.
