Team and Role Overview
The Release Engineering (RelEng) team at Mozilla is vital in guaranteeing smooth and dependable delivery of their software products. This team handles the continuous deployment processes, ensuring rapid and reliable updates for millions of users globally. RelEng is tasked with optimizing and managing build and deployment pipelines that support tens of thousands of daily operations building, testing, and releasing Firefox across multiple platforms and languages.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop scalable software systems enabling tens of thousands of daily build, test, and release tasks for Firefox.
- Partner with senior engineers to enhance developer workflows and implement solutions.
- Collaborate with developers across North America and Europe, managing distributed teamwork.
- Engage in peer code reviews to maintain code quality.
- Address critical service incidents during normal working hours without participating in on-call rotations.
Candidate Profile
- Possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a relevant field, or have equivalent professional experience.
- Have at least two years of experience programming in an object-oriented language, with a preference for Python.
- Demonstrate enthusiasm for continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) processes.
- Show familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure.
- Comfortable working in diverse environments including Windows, macOS, and Linux, with shell scripting skills.
- Experience collaborating with teams spread across multiple time zones.
- Adept at understanding and improving existing software and tooling.
