Your Role

Joining Zip will place you in a fast-growing environment (40% growth monthly since launch in 2020). The product spans request management, no-code workflows, customer reporting, ticketing system integrations, financial system connections, and B2B payment processing.

As a Software Engineer, you will develop core Zip products and infrastructure. You will be responsible for delivering features used directly by our users, working in a collaborative team that values open communication. You will address diverse and complex technical and product challenges, working both independently and with peer mentoring.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop robust, reliable, and maintainable products and features.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional product and customer teams to understand project requirements and deliver effective solutions.
• Produce high-quality, scalable, and extensible code.
• Design and implement scalable frontend components and applications.
• Create APIs to support current and new web application features.
• Innovate procurement by building native AI-driven features to automate workflows and enhance decision-making.

Qualification Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years experience in software engineering.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related technical discipline involving programming (e.g., physics, mathematics).
• Proficient in web application and API development within production settings. Familiarity with Python, JavaScript, React, and GraphQL as used at Zip.
• Experience with standard CI/CD and monitoring tools such as Kubernetes, Spinnaker, Jenkins, Kibana, Prometheus, and Grafana.
• Aptitude and willingness to learn and adapt to new frameworks, architectures, and programming languages as necessary.
• Prior experience at a smaller company with varied responsibilities is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Experience integrating APIs with external tools like Jira, ServiceNow, Slack is a plus, but not required.
• Interest or exposure to AI-based automation technologies or collaboration with AI/ML teams to develop intelligent workflows is beneficial.
