Job description
Role Overview
Lendlease is offering a dynamic career opportunity within their National Services Cost Planning team, focusing on nationwide projects. This position reports directly to the Services Cost Planning and Estimating Manager and specializes in supporting cost planning related to building services trades such as Mechanical, Electrical, Hydraulics, Fire, Technologies, and Vertical Transport.
The successful candidate will engage in a broad spectrum of sectors including Health, Research, Government, Commercial, Hospitality, Retail, Residential, Data Centres, and Mixed Use. Responsibilities stretch from initial budget cost planning through to detailed tender submissions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and oversee budgets for various building services trades.
- Prepare comprehensive measures and estimates tied to projects.
- Aggregate and analyze data for benchmarking purposes.
- Support cost-related decisions in value engineering and option evaluation.
- Contribute to procurement strategies geared towards competitive service contracts.
- Evaluate commercial risks and opportunities effectively.
- Maintain productive relationships with clients, partners, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Lead tender review processes including cost vetting of subcontractor bids.
- Participate actively in collaborative tender efforts.
- Offer cost planning expertise in sustainable initiatives and emerging technology implementations.
Candidate Profile
- Possess relevant tertiary and technical qualifications paired with experience in Cost Planning, Estimating, or Quantity Surveying.
- Specialized knowledge in building services trades such as Mechanical, Electrical, Hydraulics, Fire, Technologies, and Vertical Transport.
- Proficient in estimation software like CostX.
- Demonstrate excellent decision-making and influencing capabilities.
- Strong leadership qualities coupled with problem-solving skills.
- Professional demeanor with the ability to foster trust and relationships among diverse stakeholders.
- Work effectively both independently and collaboratively in a fast-moving environment.
