Role Summary

The Senior Technical Program Manager will oversee intricate cross-team technical initiatives within a primary domain, ensuring high-quality planning, execution, and coordination. This role involves identifying risks early, managing escalations, verifying progress, and collaborating with diverse teams across product, engineering, quality, and service sectors.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead complex cross-functional technical programs within your domain.
• Ensure comprehensive planning and smooth execution of multi-team projects.
• Identify and proactively address risks, blockers, and resource capacity issues.
• Act as a senior escalation contact for stalled project deliveries.
• Maintain accurate program status through direct verification rather than solely collecting reports.
• Collaborate to define objectives, scope, milestones, dependencies, and crucial decisions.
• Create practical program plans and coordination routines, clarifying resource needs.
• Coach Technical Program Managers (TPMs) and part-time project leads; manage full-time TPMs if applicable.
• Partner closely with teams while respecting their decision-making authority.
• Oversee programs that might include sunsetting features/products, launching major features, managing significant refactoring, or handling complex customer/partner escalations.
• Primarily focus on one domain, such as an IDE product area, while supporting cross-domain priorities when needed.

Qualifications and Experience

• Proven experience leading complex software programs or multiple cross-team projects end-to-end.
• Skilled at influencing without formal authority, constructively challenging assumptions, and working effectively across various functions.
• Strong negotiation, facilitation, and escalation management skills.
• Capability to handle multiple initiatives concurrently, prioritize effectively, and maintain realistic execution plans.
• Experience mentoring other program or project managers to uplift execution quality.
• Adequate technical understanding to evaluate feasibility, dependencies, and delivery risks.
• Background in technology or close collaboration with software development teams.
• At least five years of relevant program or project management experience in the technology sector.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
• Solid knowledge of structuring, planning, and driving complex software programs; formal PM training or certification is advantageous.
• Familiarity with IntelliJ IDEA, PyCharm, JetBrains tools, or other developer-centric products is a plus.
