Role Overview

As a member of the Insights team, you'll have a vital role in shaping Bolt9s data landscape by maintaining and enhancing the infrastructure that guarantees reliable, high-quality data delivery. You'll work with developer tools and frameworks in Python, manage cloud infrastructure including AWS, Terraform, Databricks, and Kubernetes, and automate workflows using GitHub Actions and Airflow.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage, provision, and enhance cloud infrastructure (AWS, Kubernetes, Databricks, Airflow) powering over 800 daily workflows and supporting thousands of data models and key metrics.
• Develop and sustain internal Python-based tools and CI/CD pipelines to simplify infrastructure complexity, enabling data teams to efficiently validate, test, and deploy dbt models and data products.
• Design and maintain observability systems, alerting mechanisms, and deployment pipelines to monitor platform health, uptime, and compute expenses.
• Proactively define, design, and implement user-friendly solutions aimed at ensuring customer satisfaction; actively influencing the platform's evolution.
• Elevate product and technical standards by advocating and applying software engineering best practices.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum of 5 yearsexperience as a software engineer, with hands-on involvement in data-centric systems and cloud infrastructure automation.
• Strong proficiency in Python or another widely adopted object-oriented programming language, demonstrating solid engineering foundations and adaptability.
• Deep understanding of modern CI/CD methodologies, with an emphasis on observability, testing, and automation as integral engineering components.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, comfortable collaborating across technical and non-technical teams.
• Customer-oriented mindset with a proven history of leading and successfully delivering complex, cross-functional projects.
• Familiarity with contemporary data platforms and technologies such as Databricks and Delta Lake or Iceberg equivalents.
