Senior Data Modeler

About the Role

Join a leading global technology company based in Letterkenny, County Donegal, with a hybrid working model (2/3 onsite) focused on delivering excellence through innovation and collaboration. The Senior Data Modeler will design and implement enterprise data structures to aid analytics, reporting, and operational needs within Microsoft SQL Server environments, utilizing tools such as IDERA ER/Studio or similar.

Key Responsibilities

• Create conceptual, logical, and physical data models according to business needs.
• Develop relational and dimensional data models supporting data warehousing and business intelligence.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, architects, and ETL teams to translate requirements into effective data architectures.
• Maintain ER diagrams, data dictionaries, and metadata documentation ensuring consistency and adherence to governance standards.
• Ensure data modeling complies with quality, standardization, and performance guidelines.
• Support database design, DDL script generation, deployment, and optimization for SQL Server databases.
• Contribute to data architecture discussions aligned with enterprise strategies.
• Note: This role requires coverage during US hours (2pm – 10pm GMT).

Candidate Profile

• Proven extensive experience in data modeling, including ER modeling, relational modelling (3NF), and dimensional modelling (star and snowflake schemas).
• Proficient with conceptual, logical, and physical data model design.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server database design, SQL scripting, and DDL creation.
• Familiarity with data modeling tools, preferably IDERA ER/Studio.
• Preferred knowledge in data warehousing concepts such as SCD (Slowly Changing Dimensions), CDC (Change Data Capture), and ETL integrations.
• Exposure to BI tools like Power BI or Tableau is advantageous.
• Understanding of data governance and metadata management practices.
• Experience in BFSI domain is desirable but not mandatory.
