Role Overview

Oracle is seeking a Senior Principal Energy Program Manager based in Singapore to lead energy procurement strategies supporting Oracle Cloud data centers across the APAC region, with a focus on Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Australia, and India. This role will be responsible for day-to-day management of energy sourcing, negotiations, market analysis, and collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure sustainable, cost-effective power supply aligned with Oracle's carbon-free electricity goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Negotiate and secure strategic energy agreements with utilities and independent power producers to benefit Oracle’s cloud operations.
  • Manage the overall energy strategy for Oracle Cloud data centers in targeted APAC markets.
  • Design and implement energy sourcing requirements, including conducting market regulatory analysis, financial modelling, RFP management, forward purchasing strategies, and data preparation.
  • Collaborate with energy providers, regulators, internal teams, and consultants to monitor market conditions, ensuring optimal transaction decisions.
  • Assess energy market risks and opportunities, providing strategic recommendations to keep Oracle ahead of challenges.
  • Develop robust cross-functional relationships across capacity planning, infrastructure build, supply chain, engineering, operations, sustainability, and procurement.
  • Coordinate power delivery technologies including utility grids, behind-the-meter solutions, gas plants, and renewables.
  • Partner closely with finance teams to prepare annual energy budgets based on footprint changes and price trends.
  • Support new data center site power delivery by understanding electricity supply equipment, tariffs, negotiating contracts, financial modeling, managing RFPs, and supplier onboarding.
  • Maintain awareness of utilities, tariff structures, and market dynamics to support negotiations and strategy development.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, STEM, business with technical acumen in energy and data centers.
  • 10-15 years professional experience, including 6-10 years managing corporate power procurement or utility/IPP power origination in complex matrix organizations.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of regulated/deregulated energy markets, power hedging, supply and purchase agreements.
  • Experience in mark-to-market accounting and managing energy market exposure.
  • Familiarity with sustainability and carbon reduction frameworks such as GRI, Science-based Targets, CDP, Greenhouse Gas Protocol.
  • Proven ability to develop energy budgets and collaborate with finance on power cost projections.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel for financial models analyzing rates, fees, and tariffs.
  • Strong negotiation skills with executive presence and supplier engagement capabilities.
  • Flexibility to work across global time zones and travel internationally when necessary.

Preferred Additional Experience

  • 1-3+ years knowledge of utility interconnection, transmission planning, and renewable energy execution including green tariffs, wheeling, behind-the-meter solutions, and VPPAs.
  • Deep understanding of data center or mission-critical energy management and strategy implementation.
  • Expertise in gas transportation logistics, supply options, cost analysis, and risk assessment.
  • Experience with onsite energy technology integration aligned with data center requirements.
