Full-Time Store Associate

About the Role

This position involves a range of store-related duties including stocking merchandise, cashiering, and maintaining store cleanliness to ensure the shopping environment remains inviting and efficient. You'll join a collaborative team that prioritizes exceptional customer service to enhance every shopper's experience.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Deliver excellent customer service in line with company principles and report any customer concerns promptly to management.
• Notify management about loss related to expired or damaged goods.
• Operate the point-of-sale system accurately and discuss any scanning issues with management.
• Comply with established cash handling policies and procedures.
• Manage checkout lines effectively, including opening additional lanes to reduce wait times.
• Stock shelves and displays carefully following merchandising guidelines to maximize product appeal and sales.
• Prepare curbside pickup orders by retrieving items correctly, verifying content, and ensuring prompt customer delivery at the designated area.
• Maintain store zone and merchandising standards consistently.
• Support management in reaching efficiency and loss prevention goals.
• Follow all company policies and procedures rigorously.
• Help promote and maintain a safe workplace by identifying hazards, applying proper ergonomics, and keeping equipment in good condition.
• Abide by inventory handling and product care protocols.
• Perform routine cleaning tasks to meet company standards.

Physical Requirements

• Must be capable of pushing, pulling, sitting, standing, reaching, grasping, twisting, bending, and moving throughout the store area.
• Ability to lift, carry, and place items weighing up to 45 pounds on shelves at various heights including above head level.
• Operate store equipment such as cash registers, manual and electric hand jacks, floor scrubbers, and cardboard balers.
• Work in variable temperature conditions including freezer and cooler areas.
• Use cleaning products safely including glass and multipurpose cleaners.

Qualifications & Experience

• Deliver prompt, courteous customer service consistently.
• Operate store equipment such as cash registers and cleaning machinery effectively.
• Understand and implement company policies and operating procedures accurately.
• Communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
• Apply basic mathematical operations accurately.
• Follow instructions attentively and maintain high detail orientation.
• Work well independently and as part of a team.
• Organize and prioritize tasks to meet productivity goals within timelines.
• Demonstrate reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Meet schedule and availability requirements set by the store.

Education & Age Requirements

• Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
• A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not mandatory.
• Previous retail experience is advantageous but not required.

Compensation and Work Hours

This is a full-time position averaging 30 or more hours weekly. The starting hourly wage is $18.00 with scheduled increases over successive years up to $20.00 per hour by year five.
