Forward Deployed Engineer

Role Overview

Join Wonderful as a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) to tackle meaningful, real-world challenges by collaborating closely with enterprise customers. In this role, you will take complete ownership of projects, progressing from initial concepts to delivering production-ready solutions with measurable business impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage with customers to grasp operational issues and define success metrics.
• Convert broad, ambiguous problems into concrete technical plans and implementations.
• Develop AI-driven agents that seamlessly integrate with customer infrastructures and carry out practical tasks.
• Manage deployments focusing on system reliability, performance optimization, and continuous enhancement.
• Utilize real data for testing, evaluate results, and refine solutions accordingly.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to deliver robust, high-quality solutions.
• Create and maintain tools, documentation, and guidelines to enhance the scalability of customer implementations.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum of five years experience in software engineering or technical problem-solving positions.
• Strong foundation in software design principles and systems thinking.
• Proven ability to work across multiple systems, integrations, and manage data flows.
• Comfortable interfacing directly with clients and navigating undefined or complex problems.
• Excellent communication abilities paired with a strong sense of ownership.
• A keen interest in developing AI-driven systems that effectively operate in real-world settings.

Additional Valuable Qualifications

• Background in forward deployment, solutions engineering, or client-facing technical roles.
• Experience with AI agents, automation tools, or dialogue/conversational systems.
• Hands-on involvement in managing and enhancing production environments.
