The position involves tackling demanding data engineering and science challenges centered on large geospatial datasets, developing resilient data processing pipelines, and contributing to the continuous improvement of our data offerings.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the complete development lifecycle and upkeep of footfall data products.
• Create, enhance, and scale data pipelines for ingesting, transforming, and managing vast datasets.
• Participate in data product design, critically assessing methods, data integrity, and analytical techniques to refine our products.
• Resolve intricate technical issues by crafting efficient and sustainable solutions.
• Identify and implement automation for manual workflows and optimize current processes.
• Guarantee the reliability of data workflows via rigorous testing, monitoring, logging, and error management.
• Develop reproducible data processing frameworks accompanied by thorough documentation and clear data lineage.

Qualifications and Skills

• Strong foundations in Computer Science, substantiated through a formal degree or pertinent practical experience.
• Proficient Python programming abilities, especially experienced with pandas and writing well-structured, efficient, and maintainable code.
• In-depth understanding of algorithms, data structures, computational complexity, and optimization techniques.
• Analytical aptitude to evaluate and select appropriate tools and algorithms tailored to large-scale data processing needs with varying computing constraints.
• An investigative approach, motivated to explore new technical difficulties and fully comprehend system mechanisms.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail and quality.
• Self-driven with confidence to own projects and steer complex technical initiatives from conception through deployment.
• Fluent English communication skills at C1/C2 or native level.

Additional Advantages

• Hands-on experience with geospatial data or Geographic Information System software like QGIS or ArcGIS.
• Knowledge or experience with distributed data processing platforms, with a preference for Dask.
• Background in constructing and supporting production-level data pipelines.
• Familiarity with both SQL and NoSQL database technologies.
• Competence in containerization solutions such as Docker or Podman.
• Exposure to cloud environments and modern best practices in data engineering.
• Client-facing experience, capable of translating technical topics into clear, actionable business insights and managing expectations assertively.
