About the Role

The Visual Merchandiser contributes to a superior guest experience by creating and maintaining visual displays aligned with company standards. This role requires expertise in merchandising techniques, mannequin styling, fixture placement, and in-store marketing elements to engage customers and support sales growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and organize daily and weekly visual merchandising plans in collaboration with store leaders, incorporating sales targets, promotional events, and store priorities.
  • Conduct weekly visual assessments, working closely with management to enhance store appearance and guest satisfaction.
  • Oversee the implementation and upkeep of visual standards throughout the store to elevate presentation quality.
  • Support and validate all visual merchandising activities consistent with company strategies including In-Store Marketing (ISM) elements.
  • Adjust lighting such as overhead spotlights to highlight merchandise effectively.
  • Resolve merchandising challenges and modify displays to sustain engaging store environments.
  • Use daily team interactions to educate and coach on visual standards, signage strategies, and creating inspiring displays.
  • Maintain organized backroom areas and update signage tools and fixtures as needed.
  • Facilitate onboarding and ongoing visual merchandising training for team members to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Promote inclusivity by respecting diverse perspectives and fostering equitable experiences.
  • Adhere to safety protocols, report hazards, and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Engage guests warmly during tasks, assist with inquiries, and express appreciation for their patronage.
  • Perform additional duties as business needs dictate.

Qualifications and Desired Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum of 1 to 2 years experience in visual merchandising.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Possesses business understanding relating to sales margins, profitability, and retail trends.
  • Keen eye for style and trends supporting the brand’s presentation.
  • Ability to lead and influence team members to adhere to visual merchandising processes.
  • Competent in operating handheld scanners and other relevant technological devices.
  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage and prioritize workload efficiently.
  • Welcoming demeanor and effective communication abilities.
  • Ability to maintain focus and multitask effectively in a dynamic environment.

Physical and Work Requirements

  • Accessible to all store areas to address guest or team member concerns.
  • Operation of Work Assist Vehicles (WAV) and pallet jacks required.
  • Understanding and interpreting various instructions and reports.
  • Cash register handling as needed.
  • Ability to climb ladders and safely handle merchandise weighing up to 44 pounds occasionally.
  • Flexible to work varied schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Role does not guarantee 40 hours per week; hours depend on business demand.
  • Must be able to remain physically active for the whole shift.

Compensation and Benefits

The starting hourly wage ranges from $19.75 to $21.75, with a full hourly range extending up to $33.60. Salary is influenced by market conditions, education, experience, and certifications.
