Job description
About the Role
As a Termite Technician, you will be instrumental in protecting client properties from damages caused by wood-destroying insects. Serving as the primary defense against termite infestations, your inspections, preventive treatments, and remedial services offer our customers peace of mind and property safety.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and identify termite issues utilizing knowledge of termite behaviors and biology to determine appropriate remedial actions.
- Conduct termite treatment operations safely following company protocols and recognized best practices.
- Apply anti-termite chemicals to structures in accordance with schedule, safety standards, and product instructions.
- Inform customers about conditions that encourage termite activity and advise on procedures or structural modifications to supplement treatment.
- Ensure each work order complies with the job specification requirements.
- Operate and maintain service vehicles and pest control equipment professionally.
- Document all services rendered through production forms accurately.
- Interact with customers courteously, explaining services and addressing their concerns.
- Prepare job sites for treatment, tolerating diverse environmental conditions such as seasonal weather and damp or dusty areas.
- Access and navigate confined spaces, crawl spaces, roofs, ladders, stairs, and structures safely as part of service delivery.
- Wear all required personal protective equipment, including OSHA-compliant respirators when necessary, and work in constrained environments where pests reside.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license in your state of residence (company vehicle and fuel card are provided).
- Minimum of one year experience in customer service; prior termite control experience is advantageous.
- Ability to maintain attention to detail and eagerness to learn new skills.
- Clean-shaven face for proper fit of respiratory protective equipment.
- Availability to work Monday through Friday with occasional Saturdays as needed.
- Licenses or certifications mandated by federal, state, or local regulations (employer-sponsored).
- Proficiency in basic mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) to accurately mix and apply products.
Physical and Environmental Conditions
- Capability to perform varied physical activities including balancing, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crawling, and working at heights up to 20 feet.
- Comfort working in confined spaces, narrow aisles, outdoors in inclement weather, and noisy or dusty environments.
- Experience in general labor tasks such as carpentry, roofing, cement work, and gutter maintenance is a plus.
Compensation
Hourly wage ranges from $17 to $23.
