Job Overview
The Store Driver role involves picking, staging, and delivering automotive parts safely to professional customers, managing returns, and supporting in sales activities while maintaining store upkeep and inventory management.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver parts accurately and safely to professional customers.
- Collect returns and core parts during deliveries.
- Distribute weekly and monthly sales flyers promoting current offers and loyalty programs.
- Collect payments on credit accounts daily.
- Build and nurture relationships with MainStreet and national professional customers, sharing product insights gained during deliveries.
- Support upselling and cross-selling efforts to boost average transaction values.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the store including floors, restrooms, product facing, dusting, and parking areas.
- Perform stocking tasks including truck stocking, back stock management, and cycle counts.
- Stay updated on product inventory and new arrivals to assist in sales.
- Interact with walk-in customers to assess their needs and recommend appropriate parts or services.
- Perform other assigned duties as required.
Qualifications and Skills
- Fluent in English with strong written and verbal communication skills; Spanish is an advantage.
- Ability to read and interpret safety guidelines, manuals, parts catalogs, and procedural documents.
- Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to operate delivery board systems and inventory management systems confidently.
- Demonstrated safe driving capabilities and navigation skills.
- Experience in automotive parts is preferred but not mandatory.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Willingness to work varied schedules including days, evenings, and weekends as needed.
- Customer service orientation with aptitude for sales and product promotion.
- Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds frequently and with assistance for up to 100 pounds.
Physical and Work Environment
The position requires frequent standing and walking, good physical mobility (including reaching, climbing, stooping), and visual abilities such as close and distance vision, color perception, depth perception, and focus adjustment. The work setting is mainly indoors, with occasional outdoor exposure to varied weather while performing tasks such as installing components. Employees may be exposed to moving machinery, hazardous chemicals, electrical risks, and noise levels typically moderate.
Compensation and Benefits
The hourly wage for this position ranges from 17.60 CAD to 18.85 CAD, influenced by location, experience, education, and applicable shift differentials.
