Team Overview
The Tech Platform team delivers reusable infrastructure services, enabling product teams to focus on business outcomes without rebuilding foundational components. Their mission includes providing modular traffic management, secure service communication, and adaptive request handling across multi-data-center environments, improving engineering efficiency, consistency, reliability, and developer experience organization-wide.
Role Summary
As a vital member of the Search Platform team, you will bridge business needs and architecture, developing advanced infrastructure to simplify organizational challenges, reduce developer maintenance overhead, and foster innovation. You will apply cutting-edge technologies including distributed systems, vector databases, and data pipelines to solve extensive problems.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers to analyze product needs and devise technical strategies and execution plans.
- Design, implement, and deliver production-ready streaming data ingestion using tools like Flink, emphasizing low latency, high throughput, and fault tolerance.
- Address complex issues involving real-time computation, stateful stream processing, data partitioning, and system resiliency.
- Engage in code reviews, design discussions, and performance evaluations to elevate team technical standards.
- Work with Technical leads to manage and prioritize a backlog aligned with the product roadmap.
- Partner with global engineering, infrastructure, and product teams to create robust engineering solutions that meet business requirements.
Candidate Profile
Minimum qualifications:
- Over 7 years of experience with backend development, especially in large-scale distributed systems.
- Strong proficiency in programming and scripting languages such as Java (Kotlin), C++, and Python, including software/system design expertise.
- Comprehensive knowledge of your primary language's libraries, idiomatic practices, and standards to write clear, maintainable, and efficient code.
- Deep understanding of storage and streaming technologies, particularly PostgreSQL and Kafka.
Preferred skills:
- Experience in event-driven architectures and parallel processing.
- Background working on large data processing pipelines and search engines using technologies like Kafka, Spark, Flink, or ElasticSearch.
- Familiarity with microservices, observability tooling, and cloud-native environments such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience integrating AI-powered search technologies such as semantic search, embeddings, or advanced re-ranking models is advantageous.
