Role Overview

We are seeking a proficient Data Engineer specializing in Core Java and SQL to join the Service Analytics team within the Health Suite Service Analytics Platform (HSSAP) business unit. This role entails developing scalable backend services, essential platform components, and data-processing workflows to support analytics across various business units. The candidate will engage in the entire software development lifecycle, collaborating closely with UI developers, product teams, and other stakeholders to deliver seamless solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and platform modules utilizing Core Java and Spring Boot frameworks.
• Create and maintain RESTful APIs incorporating business logic for frontend and external system integrations.
• Collaborate effectively with UI development teams to ensure cohesive user experience flows.
• Contribute to data modeling efforts, SQL scripting, and integration logic development.
• Produce clean, well-documented, and thoroughly tested code adhering to established best practices.
• Participate actively in the software development lifecycle covering requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, debugging, and deployment phases.
• Engage in paired programming sessions and technical discussions to enhance solution quality.
• Lead or support software design activities, scrutinize requirements, and ensure the delivery of high-quality technical outputs.
• Conduct design reviews, system testing, and resolve integration challenges as they arise.
• Assist in product verification and validation in close coordination with stakeholders.
• Manage application deployments through continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and provide support for production releases.

Required Skills and Experience

• 4 to 8 years of solid hands-on experience in Core Java software development.
• Strong expertise with Java 8, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and designing RESTful web services.
• Proficient understanding of data modeling principles and proficient in SQL scripting.
• Experience working with Hibernate ORM and JDBC Template for database interaction.
• Familiarity with build tools such as Maven and CI tools like Jenkins, along with unit testing frameworks like Mockito.
• Competent in version control systems including Git and TFS.
• Comprehensive understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Proficiency using popular IDEs such as IntelliJ IDEA or Eclipse.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication skills.
