Senior Software Engineer (Python/Platform Engineering)

Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer specializing in Python and Platform Engineering to join our team in Singapore. The ideal candidate will have strong backend development skills, expertise in container orchestration, and a solid grasp of observability tools. This role involves architecting, deploying, and maintaining scalable and reliable systems using modern DevOps methodologies.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services, automation scripts, and integration modules primarily using Python.
• Manage and scale containerized applications with Kubernetes across various environments.
• Design and implement observability solutions including dashboards, metrics, logs, traces, and alerting pipelines utilizing Grafana, Prometheus, and related tools.
• Build and maintain Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using tools such as Git, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and TeamCity.
• Engage actively in Agile processes including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Handle Linux system administration tasks focusing on performance tuning, troubleshooting, and security enhancements.
• Support cloud and infrastructure operations involving Docker, Ansible, Splunk/Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), and public cloud platforms.
• Contribute to security and networking aspects including working on identity/authentication solutions like JWT, OAuth, SPIFFE, as well as proxy and network configurations.

Qualifications and Skills

• At least 5 years of professional experience in Python programming with excellent proficiency.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration platforms.
• Strong knowledge of observability frameworks, particularly Grafana and Prometheus.
• Familiarity with test-driven development (TDD) and implementing automated testing.
• Competent in CI/CD tooling such as Git, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and TeamCity.
• Proficient in Shell scripting and working with Regular Expressions.
• Well-versed in Linux system administration and advanced troubleshooting.
• Experience with Docker, Ansible configuration management, Splunk/SIEM platforms, and cloud service providers.
• Understanding of networking concepts, proxy services, and authentication protocols including JWT, OAuth, and SPIFFE.
• Effective communicator capable of working collaboratively within Agile teams.
