About the Cash Forecasting Team

The Cash Forecasting team develops an AI-enhanced treasury solution that surpasses the limitations of manual spreadsheets by providing real-time cash visibility and predictive insights for CFOs and treasury teams. The platform integrates with major ERP and banking systems to collect and analyze transactional data across various currencies and business units. Employing the proprietary GSmart AI, it continually learns from past financial data to select optimal forecasting models, thereby improving accuracy by over 30%.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs supporting the Cash Forecasting platform, with occasional frontend involvement as needed.
• Work within a complex, scalable multi-tenant SaaS codebase tailored for enterprise clients and diverse data.
• Take ownership of the data layer including schema design, query optimization, and ensuring data integrity, primarily using PostgreSQL and SQL.
• Develop comprehensive test suites with RSpec, prioritizing test coverage as a critical aspect of delivery.
• Manage deployment and packaging using Docker within an AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Create scripts and tools to automate tasks, facilitate data migrations, and streamline workflow.
• Implement strong system observability through logging, metrics, and tracing to promptly identify and resolve issues.
• Analyze and profile code performance to locate bottlenecks and optimize accordingly based on evidence.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and engineers to translate business and customer requirements into reliable technical solutions.
• Participate actively in code reviews and technical discussions to contribute to team progress.
• Embrace the "you-build-it-you-run-it" philosophy by engaging in on-call rotations.

Required Qualifications

• Between 4 to 8 years of software development experience, with proficiency in full-stack development favoring backend expertise.
• Strong foundational knowledge in SQL, with practical experience specifically in PostgreSQL preferred.
• Adaptability in handling large, complex codebases and making safe modifications.
• Competency in scripting for automation across any language.
• Experience working with container technologies like Docker.
• Demonstrated proficiency in Git, particularly collaborative branching workflows.
• Expertise in at least one major programming language such as Ruby, Python, or Java.
• Application of AI tools to accelerate development and problem solving throughout the software lifecycle.
• Familiarity with testing frameworks such as RSpec.

Preferred Experience

• Working knowledge of Ruby and Ruby on Rails, which will facilitate quicker onboarding.
• Frontend development skills, especially with React, enabling contribution to UI work as needed.
• Experience with AWS cloud services and infrastructure.
• Background in developing or managing multi-tenant enterprise SaaS platforms.
• Understanding of observability practices including logging, monitoring, tracing, and alerting.
• Skills in benchmarking and profiling applications to improve performance.
• Familiarity with the financial sector, notably treasury, payments, foreign exchange, or ERP systems.
