About Cubist Systematic Strategies

Their approach centers on intensive research into various market inefficiencies, supported by extensive access to numerous publicly available datasets.
Role Overview
The Entry-Level Quantitative Researcher position involves carrying out in-depth quantitative investigations with an emphasis on developing predictive models. New team members will receive comprehensive training covering all facets of systematic trading, from the inception of ideas through to real-world trading operations. Successful candidates are expected to evolve into key contributors within the collaborative research team.
Responsibilities
- Perform innovative quantitative research focused on identifying alpha signals.
- Keep abreast of and critically evaluate the latest academic publications relevant to the field.
- Oversee every step of the research cycle, including idea generation, data manipulation, hypothesis formulation and testing, alpha generation, strategy development, backtesting, and portfolio assessment.
- Develop analytical tools to enhance the collective research infrastructure.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Possession of a B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in finance, economics, mathematics, statistics, data science, computer science, or a related quantitative discipline.
- Proficiency in programming using Python or similar languages, with working knowledge of SQL.
- Strong capabilities in analytical thinking and quantitative analysis.
- A proactive mindset with responsibility for one’s own projects.
- Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively in team settings.
- Motivation to produce high-quality outputs efficiently.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- No prior experience in the financial services sector is necessary.
- Dedication to upholding the highest standards of ethics.
