Job description
Role Overview
Join NZ Post as a Continuous Improvement Specialist focused on our Processing network, where you'll drive operational enhancements that boost safety, service quality, and efficiency. This position requires collaborating closely with operational leaders and frontline teams to identify improvement opportunities, resolve operational issues, and embed sustainable, measurable process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive continuous improvement and Operational Excellence initiatives within NZ Post’s national Processing operations.
- Analyze, redesign, and optimize operational processes to enhance overall performance.
- Collaborate with leadership and teams to address complex operational challenges.
- Implement and advocate standardized Operational Excellence practices and sustainable improvements.
- Monitor operational performance and ensure lasting positive outcomes.
- Coach teams on structured problem-solving techniques, Lean thinking, and continuous improvement methodologies.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate enjoys unpacking complex systems and devising practical solutions to optimize them. You possess excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all organizational levels and guide others through change. A data-oriented mindset combined with a passion for operational excellence is essential.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification is mandatory; Black Belt preferred.
- Proven experience in delivering continuous improvement and Operational Excellence initiatives within processing, manufacturing, logistics, supply chain, or similar operational sectors.
- Strong skills in process analysis, design, and optimization.
- Outstanding stakeholder engagement, influencing, and relationship management abilities.
- Comfortable operating in dynamic, complex operational environments.
- Fluency in leveraging data and operational insights to drive measurable improvements.
- Business Process Management (BPM) certification or related experience is advantageous.
