Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Android Developer to design, develop, and maintain our native Android application using Kotlin from initial design stages through to Play Store deployment. This role involves integrating mobile apps with embedded devices, implementing adaptive user interfaces based on Figma designs, and actively participating in critical technical decisions, clean coding practices, and code reviews. Collaboration with cross-functional teams including iOS, backend, hardware, and QA is essential, while staying current with the latest Android development trends and technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the native Android application using Kotlin.
- Integrate mobile applications with embedded hardware devices.
- Implement adaptive UIs based on Figma designs.
- Contribute to technical decisions, maintain clean code standards, and perform code reviews.
- Keep up to date with emerging Android development technologies and best practices.
- Collaborate closely with iOS, backend, hardware, and quality assurance teams.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum of 3 years professional experience in native Android development with Kotlin.
- Strong proficiency with Jetpack Compose, Material3, Coroutines/Flow, and contemporary architecture patterns.
- Experienced with Android Studio, Git, Jenkins Pipelines.
- Familiarity with unit testing and agile methodologies such as Scrum.
- Experience utilizing AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Copilot, Claude) and critically assessing their outputs.
- Bonus skills include Kotlin Multiplatform, Firebase, Java, and familiarity with iOS/Swift development.
- Language skills: German at A1 and English at C1 level, with confident verbal and written communication in both languages.
