Role Summary

We are seeking a Transport Planner to oversee the daily management of logistics, including travel arrangements and customs documentation for a fleet exceeding 70 trucks across Ireland and the UK. This role involves collaborating closely with drivers, internal teams, and external partners to ensure vehicle deliveries are tracked and transport data systems remain current. Suitable candidates are expected to possess strong problem-solving abilities, effective communication skills, a solid grasp of the geographic landscape of Ireland and the UK, and a proactive and adaptable mindset to succeed in a dynamic working environment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the day-to-day transportation planning of over 70 trucks within a collaborative team spanning Ireland and the UK.
• Maintain effective communication with drivers, various internal departments, and subcontractors.
• Arrange travel logistics including ferry and flight bookings as well as customs paperwork when necessary.
• Ensure transport databases and information are accurate and updated regularly.
• Track and control vehicle deliveries to ensure client requirements are fulfilled.

Requirements

• Prior experience in transport planning is beneficial.
• Capability to monitor and ensure vehicle deliveries meet customer expectations.
• Demonstrated leadership aptitude and strong problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication capabilities.
• Willingness to work flexible hours to accommodate business demands.
• Keen attention to detail and self-driven motivation.
• Ability to perform well under stressful and evolving circumstances.
• Preferably holding a relevant tertiary education certificate or diploma.
• Knowledge of the geography of Ireland and the UK is advantageous.
• Possession of a full, clean driving licence is required.
