Job description
Role Overview
The Technical Trainer will be responsible for conducting comprehensive training programs focused on pharmacy technical knowledge and retail operations at Apollo Pharmacy locations. This role involves identifying skill gaps, delivering instructor-led and digital training sessions, and ensuring compliance with pharmacy practices and retail processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct training needs analysis by reviewing store audits, performance metrics, and feedback from store managers to determine training requirements.
- Deliver classroom, online, and practical on-the-job training on pharmacology topics including drug classifications, brand and generic substitutions, dosage forms, and side effects.
- Train staff on Apollo’s Point-of-Sale (POS) systems, billing software, inventory management modules, electronic prescriptions, and digital retail tools.
- Provide education on legal regulations regarding drugs (Schedules H, H1, X), cold-chain management, correct storage, handling short and expired drugs, and readiness for audits according to Good Pharmacy Practices.
- Guide employees on inventory control activities such as stock auditing, order fulfillment, return processes, maintaining minimum and maximum stock levels, and measures to prevent stock loss or shrinkage.
- Coach pharmacists and pharmacy assistants in soft skills including customer service, active listening, over-the-counter (OTC) product cross-selling, patient counseling, and complaint resolution.
- Manage onboarding and apprenticeship schedules for Retail Trainee Pharmacists and Retail Sales Associates, supporting their integration into Apollo’s training framework.
- Monitor and measure training impact by assessing post-training evaluations, audit results, reductions in errors, and key performance indicators.
Additional Information
Monthly salary ranges between INR 35,000 and INR 40,000. This position requires onsite presence in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, India.
