Team Overview

The Messaging Infrastructure division at Klaviyo is dedicated to enhancing customer engagement via multiple messaging channels including email, SMS/MMS/RCS, mobile push notifications, WhatsApp, and more. This team supports a broad client base from startups to large enterprises by maintaining a mission-critical messaging platform designed for massive scalability and outstanding reliability.

Role Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain features and services essential to hundreds of thousands of Klaviyo clients daily, enabling their business growth.
• Build and advance a highly scalable, highly available campaign pipeline processing hundreds of millions of messages daily, targeting billion-scale volume.
• Collaborate extensively with internal teams and stakeholders on system architecture, implementation, and engineering best practices.
• Explore and integrate new technologies to continually elevate our platform capabilities.
• Enhance our experimentation and software development workflows, while mentoring fellow engineers.
• Contribute to the recruitment process by conducting technical interviews, maintaining a high hiring standard.
• Act as a subject matter expert to raise individual and team engineering standards.

Candidate Profile

• Possess 4+ years in software engineering, with experience delivering complex system projects.
• Strong knowledge of large-scale system design, technologies, and patterns; capable of making informed design trade-offs to satisfy business needs.
• Enthusiastic about diagnosing and resolving performance and scalability challenges across systems and workflows.
• Committed to continuous product improvement guided by a data-driven mindset and proactive system monitoring.
• Experience coaching and mentoring team members to foster professional growth.
• Preference for working within small, agile teams where you own features but collaborate broadly for optimal solutions.

Technology Stack

Languages and Frameworks: Python, Django, React

Cloud and DevOps: AWS (including EC2, RDS, Aurora), Terraform, Jenkins

Location and Work Model

This position is located in Dublin, Ireland, with a hybrid working arrangement. Klaviyo provides support for work authorization and relocation.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this role is €76,000 to €114,000 annually, reflecting the local labour market and individual qualifications. Additional compensation may include annual bonus plans, equity grants, sign-on incentives, and a comprehensive benefits package encompassing health and wellbeing coverage.
