About the Company
Mitti by SafetyCulture is a global technology company dedicated to enhancing the work environment for three billion frontline workers worldwide. The organization is nearly 1,000 employees strong and delivers technological solutions without the complexity of large corporate structures. Every permanent member holds equity, ensuring shared growth. The company is focused on intelligent scaling, powered by AI, clear strategic direction, and genuine ownership.
Role Overview
The Software Engineer II will join the Foundations engineering team responsible for developing and maintaining systems that facilitate data integrations within the Mitti platform. This team supports enterprise and premium pricing tiers through integrations, billing, and pricing functionalities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and architect ecosystem components for Model Context Protocol (MCP)-based and other data connectors to enhance AI agent interactions with internal and external systems.
- Contribute to the foundational integration platform, focusing on functionalities such as authentication, authorization, permissions, and rate limiting.
- Maintain and improve existing integrations including third-party HR systems, Workato automations, public APIs, and webhook frameworks.
- Collaborate with billing teams and stakeholders on features that support enterprise-scale usage, including usage-based billing and tiered access limits.
- Implement enterprise-grade features such as single sign-on (SSO), System for Cross-domain Identity Management (SCIM), and data governance to meet large client requirements.
- Take ownership of feature development from concept through to deployment, working cross-functionally with design and product teams.
- Engage in code reviews, testing, and process improvements to enhance team productivity and product quality.
- Maintain a strong focus on user experience, even when working on platform-level systems.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering foundation with a backend focus, preferably experienced in strongly-typed languages such as Go, though familiarity with frontend and infrastructure work is beneficial. The company values critical thinking, collaborative design considerations, and the ability to navigate ambiguity. Experience working with AI tools in development workflows is also desired.
- Strong backend programming skills in a strongly typed language, ideally Go.
- Deep understanding of design patterns and distributed systems, including system trade-offs and business impact considerations.
- Hands-on experience building complex third-party integrations involving webhook management, API integrations, or ETL processes.
- Comfort with uncertainty in project scope and the ability to help define project direction.
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools and eagerness to innovate in AI usage.
Preferred Additional Experience
- Familiarity with authentication/authorization strategies such as API key management, OAuth, SSO, SAML, or SCIM.
- Exposure to enterprise business systems and orchestration tools like Temporal, Workato, Salesforce, Zuora, or similar automation platforms.
- Interest in the intersection of business growth, pricing strategies, and how these influence engineering decisions.
- Proven track record of leading feature development, managing stakeholder communication, and ensuring timely delivery.
- Active participation in engineering communities or guilds.
- Knowledge of relational databases such as PostgreSQL and principles of distributed data store design.
Team Environment
- The team is primarily backend focused but flexibility to contribute to frontend and infrastructure tasks is expected.
- AI tools are actively integrated throughout the software development lifecycle, with openness to adopting new applications.
- Close collaboration exists with the billing team around pricing and packaging functionalities.
Opportunity Level
This position is categorized as Software Engineer II, with openness to candidates closer to senior level based on self-direction and adaptability.
Additional Benefits
- Equity participation with high growth potential and competitive salary package.
- Options for flexible working arrangements.
- Access to professional development, training, and learning events like hackathons and workshops.
- Daily onsite catering including breakfast, lunch, snacks, barista coffee, craft beer, and boutique wines.
- Health and wellbeing initiatives including Employee Assistance Programs (EAP), parental leave, and quarterly team celebrations.
- Onsite recreational facilities such as gym, table tennis, board games, a library, and pet-friendly offices.
Inclusion Commitment
