Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Senior Data Scientist for our Team Greenrock within the Demand Division. This key role involves shaping the next generation of Flix's Revenue Management System (RMS), a critical production platform impacting commercial results. The role is hands-on, requiring thoughtful and patient development in an existing system environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with commercial teams to translate business needs into clearly defined projects and address operational queries.
- Apply revenue management theories and industry best practices to develop and deploy testable enhancements, guiding projects from conception through production deployment.
- Share responsibility for advancing the RMS via continuous teamwork and coordination with engineering peers.
- Maintain and improve the technical soundness, dependability, and monitoring capabilities of the current system.
Candidate Profile
Educational & Domain Expertise (Required)
- Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in Operations Research, Mathematics, Statistics, or related quantitative disciplines.
- Strong theoretical foundation in revenue management concepts such as demand forecasting, dynamic pricing, and network revenue management.
- Practical experience with revenue management or pricing technologies within sectors like transportation, travel, hospitality, retail, or similar industries is advantageous.
Technical Skills & Experience
- Proficient in Python programming (including libraries like NumPy, Polars, Pandas, SciPy) and comfortable writing SQL queries for large datasets.
- Experience with production-level coding is a plus; however, a sincere enthusiasm for creating, reviewing, and sustaining reliable code in production environments is essential.
Communication and Judgment
- Exceptional ability to communicate intricate quantitative and optimization concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical business stakeholders, while promoting well-founded revenue management strategies.
- Independent judgment to set work priorities balancing immediate solutions with long-term goals, respecting the constraints of an established system.
