About the Role

Work Schedule and Location

  • Full-time commitment from Monday through Friday, typically 8 AM to 5 PM (subject to change based on operational needs)
  • Exclusive travel requirement covering the interior British Columbia region, including Kelowna, Kamloops, Vernon, Merritt, Penticton, and South Okanagan

Primary Duties

Reporting directly to the Sales Account Manager, the Merchandiser will perform duties within retail customer locations across interior BC. Core responsibilities include maintaining and executing SmartStock Programs involving merchandising from tote to rack, assembling display racks, planogram implementation, product rotation, and other related merchandising activities. The position requires professionalism and effective business execution to benefit customers, vendors, and the company. Compensation includes a cell phone and vehicle allowance along with expense reimbursement.

  • Adhere to a prescribed call routine as guided by the Sales Account Manager
  • Maintain weekly communications with the Sales Account Manager for updated instructions on program execution
  • Implement and sustain SmartStock merchandising tasks including rack maintenance, planogram adherence, ordering, and overall merchandising
  • Monitor shelf inventory to prevent out-of-stock situations
  • Verify product freshness and compliance with date codes
  • Respond promptly to customer inquiries and concerns
  • Ensure marketing and planogram standards are upheld within stores
  • Identify and capitalize on opportunities to improve product displays and placement
  • Confirm all products are correctly priced, displayed, and labeled
  • Assist in problem-solving customer-related challenges when necessary
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Completion of High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license, clean driving record, reliable vehicle equipped as necessary (e.g., snow tires), and valid insurance meeting minimum work requirements
  • Use of personal transportation required for customer visits; gas card provided
  • Capability to communicate effectively with team and clients
  • Understanding and execution of store planograms and written instructions
  • Competence in operating hand-held inventory devices, calculators, and computers
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel and Outlook
