About the Role

Chevron Oronite invites applications for the position of Laboratory Technician based in Jurong Island, Singapore. The deadline to apply is September 18, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. SGT. Applicants should review the Data Privacy Notice before submission.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out approved analytical tests on raw materials, components, and finished products using ASTM and proprietary methods, supporting plant operations and customer service.
  • Perform in-process testing as directed by Technical and Operations teams.
  • Maintain and calibrate laboratory instruments and equipment regularly.
  • Conduct testing of standard reference samples and upkeep SMC/SQC control charts.
  • Stay updated on modifications in test methods and calibration protocols to ensure accuracy of results.
  • Support chemists in laboratory blending experiments and analysis of non-standard samples.
  • Manage sample bottles of raw materials, components, and finished products in the sample retention room according to corporate guidelines.
  • Promote a culture of High Performance Organization behaviors within the workplace.
  • Ensure excellent housekeeping practices to maintain a clean and orderly laboratory environment.

Qualifications and Skills Required

  • Diploma in Chemical Process Technology, Chemical or Biochemical Sciences, or an equivalent qualification.
  • Preferably possesses at least two years of relevant experience in the refinery, petrochemical, or chemical sectors.
  • Candidates without prior relevant experience but interested in the petrochemical industry are encouraged to apply, as training will be provided.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good planning and organizational capabilities.
  • Willingness to work 12-hour rotating shifts.

  • Relocation assistance is not available under Chevron's policies.
