About the role

A leading FinTech company based in London is seeking multiple mid-level Java Developers with 3 to 5 years of experience to join their expanding teams. This opportunity is ideal for candidates looking to advance their careers and potentially move into senior roles. The company, originally a market-disrupting startup, was recently acquired by a major capital market entity and offers hybrid working with three days in the office per week.

Key responsibilities and environment

  • Develop software using Core Java without relying on frameworks such as Spring
  • Write clean, test-driven code in a collaborative paired-programming environment
  • Work with multithreading, data structures, and algorithms to build robust applications
  • Engage with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices
  • Contribute within a modern FinTech setting, preferably with interest or experience in foreign exchange (FX) and trading domains
  • Opportunity to explore cloud technologies, building platform-agnostic software compatible with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Amazon Web Services (AWS)

Candidate requirements

  • Solid experience (3-5 years) developing with Core Java from scratch without using frameworks
  • Proficiency in multithreading and concurrent programming concepts
  • Familiarity with test-driven development (TDD) and CI/CD pipelines
  • Understanding of algorithms and data structures
  • Exposure to modern FinTech environments is advantageous
  • Genuine interest in financial markets, particularly FX and trading
  • Eligible and authorized to work in the United Kingdom
