Role Overview

As a Janitor at Farm Boy, you'll contribute to maintaining a clean, inviting, and secure store environment that reflects our fresh and customer-first ethos. Your focus on detail and pride in your work will support both customers and colleagues, enhancing the overall shopping experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide warm and approachable customer service aligned with Farm Boy's service standards.
• Greet and assist customers to foster a friendly shopping atmosphere.
• Perform general cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and dusting to keep work and storage areas tidy and safe.
• Ensure all communal areas—including staff lounges, washrooms, and locker rooms—are well maintained.
• Support inventory management and procurement of store supplies when requested.
• Adhere strictly to corporate policies, focusing on Health & Safety, Food Safety, and proper use of cleaning equipment.
• Execute designated opening and closing procedures and assist team members as needed.
• Take on additional duties periodically to aid overall store operations.

Qualifications and Skills

• A strong commitment to delivering exceptional, engaging customer service.
• Previous experience in janitorial or cleaning roles within food retail settings is advantageous.
• Ability to work autonomously with pride in delivering high cleanliness standards and attention to detail.
• A cooperative mindset with good communication and organizational capabilities.
• Comfortable working in fast-paced environments involving multiple deadlines, extended standing, heavy lifting, repetitive tasks, and use of protective gear.
• Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Proficient in English; French language skills are a plus.
